Read Write Count 2023

During the month of November, parents and carers of pupils in primaries 2 and 3 were invited to attend Read Write Count workshops led by Mrs Reynolds. There were three different sessions which focussed on different books which the pupils received in their Read Write Count bags. These bags are provided by the Scottish Book Trust and consist of two different books for each stage as well as resources which can be used at home. Those who attended the workshops also received some additional resources such as the activity placemats and everyday literacy and numeracy keyfobs created by the team at Glasgow’s Improvement Challenge.

The children enjoyed trying out different activities linked to the stories they had been exploring.  It also gave pupils and parents opportunities to see how we could link the books to different curricular areas including art, technologies and health and wellbeing. We hope to carry out similar family learning workshops in the near future. You can read more about Read Write Count by clicking the link below.
